ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Public Schools (SLPS) is turning to the community to weigh in on financial decisions for the upcoming school year.

SLPS is now focusing on developing its budget for 2025–2026 after welcoming three new board members last week, including a new school board president. They’re facing a projected $35 million deficit.

To gather community engagement, SLPS is inviting high school students, parents, taxpayers, and others to attend two public budget forums that will feature Superintendent Dr. Millicent Borishade, Chief Financial Officer Kimberly Johnson, and other SLPS leaders. The forums are set to feature open conversations, “interactive scenarios,” and Q&A sessions.

The first forum is set to take place Monday, April 28, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Adams Elementary School on Tower Grove Avenue. The second forum will be held Saturday, May 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the O’Fallon Park Recreation Complex on West Florissant Avenue.

Registration is available here.
