ST. LOUIS – Conversation continues over ways for St. Louis to spend the city’s portion of the Rams settlement money. For the first time, the public got to have a say on a plan for the $277 million available.
Many residents have strong opinions about rebuilding the community in a timely manner.
“It’s critically important because our city is metaphorically on fire like it was in 1849, and we have an opportunity to turn it around,” Jarrad Holst, a city resident and developer, said. “We have an opportunity to rise from the ashes again.”
Holst participated in Tuesday’s public hearing before the Board of Aldermen’s Housing and Urban Development and Zoning Committee as they discussed the Transform STL Act.
Nearly a quarter of a billion dollars is in place to be spread out to infrastructure, businesses, nonprofits, and childcare, with top priorities extending to infrastructure and community initiatives.
A second meeting will be held Wednesday evening to discuss the public comment.
