ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Three days after a heavy snowstorm slammed the St. Louis region, traffic seems to be gradually improving, but issues still persist with stranded vehicles and lingering backups.

Bommarito Automotive Group SkyFOX captured footage over Interstates 55, 64 and 270 in St. Louis County, particularly in south and mid-county, around 8 a.m. Wednesday. Aerial footage from SkyFOX shows most drivers navigating clear main paths while others remain stranded or delayed.

On I-55, notable southbound backups near I-255 affected drivers heading toward Jefferson County. While main lanes appear clear, shoulder lanes, exits, and turning points remain patchy, further contributing to congestion.

On I-270, SkyFOX found one hauling truck stuck near a snow exit path to Manchester Road. Some cars along the highway were also found to be stranded along barriers. There are also some vehicles with yellow tape, indicating law enforcement has checked those cars and they remain immobile for the time being.

According to MoDOT, many of the St. Louis area’s highways remain at least partially snow-covered, though some parts of highways in north county were given designations of “mostly clear.”
