ST. LOUIS – After being born last November, visitors at the St. Louis Zoo will soon witness Jet, the baby elephant’s debut.
Jet is the first Asian elephant born through artificial insemination at the St. Louis Zoo to parents Jade and Jake.
Members of the St. Louis Zoo say that Jake is becoming accustomed to his new surroundings, with his family, like his aunts, helping him along the way.
“We know that people have grown to love Raja (the elephant) over the years. Jade is Raja’s daughter. We’re excited to see and welcome four generations at the St. Louis Zoo,” said Katie Pilgram-Klopte from St. Louis Zoo.
At this time, the St. Louis Zoo has not confirmed a specific date for baby Jet’s debut.
But one thing is for sure: they’re working on elephant time.
