ST. LOUIS – A chilly start, in the 30s for many, to our Tuesday will be followed by increasing clouds.

Breezy Tuesday afternoon, with highs in the low 60s. Enjoy a relatively nice day. Mostly cloudy Tuesday night, but dry. Breezy with temperatures dipping a bit in the evening, then climbing after midnight. We’ll wake up Wednesday in the upper 60s.

Another storm system will bring strong to severe thunderstorms to the St. Louis area. Scattered showers will be possible by mid to late Wednesday morning, followed by strong to severe storms in the afternoon.

These storms will have enough lift and instability to produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. These will move in during our first day Cardinals game on Wednesday and have an impact on school pickup and afternoon bus rides.

These storms will be followed by several periods of heavy rain Thursday through Saturday. The heaviest rain is expected to fall in southeast Missouri and far southern Illinois, where more than 5 inches of rain will be possible, leading to concerns for flash flooding and river flooding.
