COLUMBIA, Mo. — One of the largest layoffs of the year was reported Monday as a school bus manufacturer with a facility located in Missouri will lay off over 200 of its employees.

Student Transportation of America reported on Monday it will lay off 212 employees from its Columbia, Missouri, facility on May 29 after losing the contract for the Boone County facility.

According to the company’s website, they employ drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and managers. It is not currently known which positions will be impacted by the layoffs due to the lost contract.
