PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. – A former substitute teacher in mid-Missouri was recently arrested after she allegedly paid students to engage in sexual acts with her.

The Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Carissa Jane Smith, 30, of Dixon, Missouri, with 19 felonies in the investigation, including:

Eight counts of statutory rape

Three counts of sexual conduct with a student

Two counts each of sexual misconduct with a student, sexual trafficking or a trial and hindering prosecution

One count each of statutory sodomy and patronizing prostitution

According to a probable cause statement from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Smith is accused of offering money, marijuana and/or alcohol to students in return for sex arrangements.
