ST. LOUIS – Nearly a week after severe storms rolled into the area, the National Weather Service St. Louis office has released their complete assessments of surveys for damage left behind. In total, our viewing area had 14 tornadoes.

FOX 2’s viewing area spans more than what the NWS St. Louis Office County Warning Area (CWA) covers. As the St. Louis CWA only reports 12, there were two additional tornadoes in our viewing area but in other CWAs—Springfield, Missouri, and Paducah, Kentucky—totaling to 14 tornadoes.

Below is a compiled list of tornadoes that occurred in our viewing area on March 14, 2025.

Rolla, Missouri — EF-2

  • 7:50 p.m. to 7:58 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 120 mph
  • Traveled over 8.5 miles northeast from Doolittle to Rolla
  • Roof damage to several homes, businesses, schools
  • One injury, no deaths

Union, Missouri — EF-1

  • 8:29 p.m. to 8:51 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 105 mph
  • Traveled 19.2 miles northeast from Elmont to Union
  • Damage to homes, telephone poles, trees, one large barn
  • No injuries or deaths

Kohl City, Missouri — EF-1

  • 8:33 p.m. to 8:39 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 105 mph
  • Traveled over 5.5 miles northeast from Kohl City to Etlah
  • Damage to trees, a few structures
  • No injuries or deaths

Villa Ridge/Fox Creek, Missouri — EF-2

  • 8:56 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 130 mph
  • Traveled 13.6 miles northeast from Villa Ridge to Fox Creek
  • Damage to industrial facility, knocking top portion of microwave tower down, and leaving homes inhabitable
  • One injury, no deaths

Clarkson Valley/Alton, Missouri and Illinois — EF-2

  • 9:16 p.m. to 9:53 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 122 mph
  • Traveled nearly 31 miles northeast from Chesterfield to Alton, Illinois
  • Reached nearly 3/4 of a mile wide as it approached Old Jamestown and West Alton
  • Widespread damage
  • No injuries or deaths

Morse Mill/Arnold/Mehlville, Missouri — EF-2

  • 9:18 p.m. to 9:39 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 115 mph
  • Traveled 25 miles northeast from Morse Mill to Mehlville
  • Most significant damage to Arnold, roof torn off
  • No injuries or deaths

Fremont/Grady, Missouri — EF-3

  • 9:51 p.m. to 10:11 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 165 mph
  • Traveled over 26 miles northeast from Carter County (or potentially Shannon County, still unknown at this time) to Grady in Iron County
  • No injuries or deaths
  • No EF-3-scaled damage occurred in St. Louis’ County Warning Area

Valmeyer, Illinois — EF-1

  • 9:52 p.m. to 10:10 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 100 mph
  • Traveled over 14.5 miles northeast from Monroe County to Floraville, Illinois
  • Damaged homes and small businesses
  • No injuries or deaths

Clearwater Lake/Des Arc/Saco, Missouri — EF-3

  • 10:20 p.m. to 10:57 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 155 mph
  • Traveled nearly 30 miles northeast from Clearwater Conservation Area to Jewett, Missouri
  • Significant damage to homes in Gads Hill and Des Arc
  • No information on injuries or deaths

O’Fallon/Lebanon/St. Rose, Illinois — EF-1

  • 10:28 p.m. to 10:33 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 109 mph
  • Traveled almost seven miles northeast from O’Fallon to southern Madison County
  • No injuries or deaths
  • Most significant damage to Parkview Trailer Park with several mobile homes damaged, destroyed

Mascoutah/Trenton, Illinois — EF-2

  • 10:33 p.m. to 10:38 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 120 mph
  • Traveled over six miles northeast from New Baden to just south of Trenton
  • Most damage along Clinton County Line Road
  • No injuries or deaths

Hagarstown/Vandalia, Illinois — EF-1

  • 11:11 p.m. to 11:23 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 90 mph
  • Traveled 13 miles northeast from Hagarstown to Sefton
  • Several trees uprooted in Vandalia
  • No injuries or deaths

Perryville/Leanderville, Illinois — EF-2

  • 11:31 p.m. to 11:55 p.m.
  • Peak winds of 135 mph
  • Traveled 25 miles northeast from Bollinger to Perry county
  • Damage to homes, school, and hundreds of trees
  • No injuries or deaths
  • No EF-2-scaled damage occurred in St. Louis’ County Warning Area

DuQuoin/St. John’s, Illinois — EF-2

  • 12:10 a.m. to 12:23 a.m.
  • Peak winds of 130 mph
  • Traveled 13.5 miles northeast in Jackson County to Perry County
  • Some homes left inhabitable, collapsed building, numerous broken power poles
  • No injuries or deaths

Although the National Weather Service does not report any deaths in our viewing area caused by the tornado itself, there were two storm-related deaths. 43-year-old Jennifer Brewington was electrocuted from a downed power line Friday night, and another woman died after driving into standing water in Jefferson County.
