FERGUSON, Mo. – St. Louis County Police have identified the victim in a Ferguson gun battle Saturday, and the prosecuting attorney’s office announced charges Sunday against a teen following the incident.
According to officials, 19-year-old Clarence Brown is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action.
Around 12:15 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the Ferguson Schnucks parking lot for shots fired. An abandoned car was located a few blocks south, which is where officers discovered 19-year-old Ramone-Kaleb Henderson inside.
Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
While police were on scene, they took cover behind the vehicle when they noticed gunfire in their direction, a release states. Additional officers arrived at the scene and arrested Brown.
Brown admitted to planning a robbery during a gun transaction, and Schnucks surveillance footage shows Brown’s vehicle following the armed robbery victim in the parking lot when gunfire was exchanged.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
