CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – One of the teens who was critically injured in a double shooting in Cahokia Heights over the weekend has died, according to officials.

The Major Case Squad announced the news Tuesday afternoon. The 15-year-old was identified as Charles E. Jones of Cahokia Heights.

The shooting occurred Saturday evening in the 100 block of Lazarcheff Dr. Police found Jones and another 15-year-old shot. Both were transported to the hospital, and the other teen was treated and released.

Officials added that their investigation is developing, as they have received over 60 leads, have persons of interest, and also have some in custody. No names involved in the investigation have been released.
