FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – A teenager died Friday afternoon in a crash in Franklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
MSHP reports that a 16-year-old boy from Beaufort, Missouri, died in the collision.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 50 near Missouri Route 185.
According to an MSHP crash report, the teenager was driving a vehicle that crossed a center line and struck the front of a second vehicle. The teenager was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
A 30-year-old man, driving the vehicle that was struck, suffered minor injuries and extensive damage to his vehicle, according to the crash report.
MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
