ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating after a teen was left injured following a shooting in north St. Louis Monday evening.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the shooting took place shortly before 7 p.m. on the 1200 block of N. 8th Street in north St. Louis’ Columbus Square neighborhood, involving a 16-year-old boy.
When officers arrived on the scene, authorities found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police claim that when they questioned the teenager about the shooting, he was uncooperative. Police claim that the teen only told them that he was walking in the area, heard gunshots, and then felt pain before running back home after the shooting.
The teen received treatment from EMS before getting transported to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
