ST. LOUIS – Police are asking for the public’s help in solving an overnight shooting in downtown St. Louis.

The shooting happened at 1:45 a.m. at the Cupples Station Garage in the 400 block of South 10th Street, according to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson.

Officers arrived a hospital and met a 16-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the victim initially gave them false information.

However, witnesses at the hospital told police they were at a nearby bar when a fight started, and they ran to a parking garage. The witnesses said they heard gunfire and ran to a vehicle to escape. They noticed the victim had been shot and drove him to the hospital.

Police said officers found a gun in the vehicle used to bring the victim to the hospital.

Police spoke with a witness at the parking garage, who told them two young men were fighting when they both pulled out guns and began shooting at one another.
