ST. LOUIS — There’s a lot to be discovered still inside the world of Apple TV’s “Severance” as characters discover more about their lives outside of the show’s Lumon Headquarters building. One thing that’s for sure is the unique connection between the now famous building and it’s connection to the St. Louis Arch.
The popular show “Severance” releases is season two finale on Thursday and continues the journey of its characters after they chose to “sever” their brains. This decision created two different versions of themselves psychologically when working at the mysterious company, Lumon.
Lumon is located inside a real building in Holmdel, New Jersey which fans can visit, according to Travel and Leisure magazine. The building takes on bright irredescnet lighting throughout its sinister-like corporate building.
The New Jersey building and its campus was designed by architect Eero Saarinen and opened as an office space in 1962 just a year before Saarinen’s Gateway Arch in St. Louis would also come to completion.
The Saarinen design technique is seen throughout both the Lumon building and Arch with futuristic elements including steel exteriors and curves.
While working inside the Lumon Headquarter building, characters become their “innies” and completely forget their life outside of work and after their work day characters become their “outie” selves and forget what their work day consisted of.
The unique show concept takes a sinister and mysterious take on the work-life balance.
The show features award-winning acting from Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette and Christopher Walken. The show’s season two finale is scheduled to be released on Apple TV+ 8 p.m. central time.
