COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – Authorities made three arrests Saturday as the Major Case Squad continues to investigate the death of a MSD worker shot and killed in her own driveway in Collinsville.
Lt. Eric Owen, deputy commander for the Major Case Squad, tells FOX 2 that three male suspects were taken into custody on Saturday.
The Major Case Squad did not immediately disclose the name or age of the suspects arrested or their specific connections with this case. However, the suspects could be facing several charges, pending a state’s attorney’s decision.
The arrests come as the Major Case Squad investigates the death of 32-year-old Portia Rowland. She was fatally shot around 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Olive Street. Investigators say Rowland had been warming up her car when a gunman approached her in her driveway and shot her.
Collinsville police contacted the Major Case Squad for assistance to solve the case. On Wednesday, the Major Case Squad released a pair of images of a wanted man dressed in all black, holding what appeared to be a firearm.
