ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Residents of Town and Country and surrounding areas should be aware that law enforcement is actively enforcing speed limits. The Town and Country Police Department has been monitoring driver speeds on I-64.

They have stopped multiple drivers exceeding 80 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone. The department says that reckless speeding endangers everyone on the road.


What to know for this weekend’s Spirit of St. Louis Air Show

According to the police department, Missouri saw a significant number of car crashes caused by reckless driving in 2023:

Over 1,000 crashes were attributed to speeding.

These crashes resulted in more than 400 injuries and 50 fatalities.

Speeding was a factor in 30% of all traffic-related deaths.

Young drivers, aged 16-24, were involved in 40% of speeding-related crashes.
