ST. LOUIS – There were tense moments Monday morning in south St. Louis after an incident involving a tanker truck and a train.
The call for a train-versus-car accident at South Broadway and Mott came out around 9:20 a.m.
St. Louis Police on the scene confirm no injuries and very minor damage to the tanker truck.
It appeared that a Union Pacific train either hit or came into contact with the back wheel of the tanker truck, causing some damage to the wheel.
It’s unclear whether the tanker was carrying anything or what caused the incident. The tanker truck belongs to Brenntag, a company that specializes in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients. The large company is based in Germany but has operations in many places, including St. Louis.
A Brenntag facility was very close to where the incident took place. We have reached out to St. Louis Police for more details on what exactly happened.
