ST. LOUIS – Two men were charged Thursday for stealing nearly $7,000 worth of merchandise from a store in Overland.

According to the Overland Police Department’s probable cause statement, police responded to a burglar alarm around 2 a.m. Thursday at a Hibbett Sports store located in Overland.

Police say surveillance video showed Kvon Moore, Corey Price, and an unknown third suspect (ages not provided) entering the store and stealing boxes of shoes and clothing items, which totaled up to nearly $7,000.

According to police, when officers arrived on the scene, they saw the doors closing to a nearby Nissan and the vehicle fleeing the scene soon after. Police say they attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver failed to yield, leading the police on a pursuit.

During the pursuit down Interstate 70, police say the suspect’s Nissan became disabled and the three suspects fled the vehicle on foot. According to police, inside the vehicle, officers found a plethora of boxes and other merchandise taken from Hibbett Sports.

Police say an officer chased after two of the suspects once they ran from the vehicle and was able to apprehend Price following the foot pursuit. Police were later able to take Moore into custody after finding him 10 houses south of where Price was apprehended. It is unknown whether the third suspect was taken into custody.

According to police, video surveillance from the store and dashcam footage showed Moore wearing the same clothing and shoes as the subject in the store and that had run from the Nissan once it became disabled.

Additionally, police say Price admitted to being at the Hibbett Sports but stated that he only waited outside. However, video surveillance from the store showed three victims entering and exiting the store to steal items.

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged both Kvon Moore and Corey Price with second-degree burglary, stealing – $750 or more, and resisting arrests. Both suspects are being held in jail on a $15,000 bond.

Moore is set to appear in court on Feb. 5 and Price is set to appear on Feb. 7, both for a bond reduction hearing. A preliminary hearing is set for both suspects on Feb. 24.
