MISSOURI — The United States Cellular Corp. announced Monday its plans to cut 4,100 positions, including some in Missouri and Illinois.
According to a Missouri WARN notice, the announcement comes after U.S. Cellular’s plan to sell all of its wireless operations to T-Mobile.
The layoffs will begin June 2 or within 14 days afterward. U.S. Cellular said a majority of the affected employees will be offered employment with T-Mobile with similar pay and benefits.
It is unclear how many employees across Missouri and Illinois will be affected, including remote workers and those working in a corporate-owned location.
