ST. LOUIS — It’s a damp morning with scattered light rain and fog. These showers will continue pulling off to the northeast and will become less widespread as the morning progresses. Once we get past this morning’s rain the rest of the day should be dry, with a decrease in the cloud cover later this afternoon and evening.

The chance of strong to severe storms returns overnight, with a line of storms expected to roll through west to east ahead of a cold front. The line of storms will weaken gradually as it moves east but we should have enough instability to continue the chance of damaging wind gusts and perhaps a few spin ups along the line. After these morning storms, the remainder of Tuesday should be quiet with sunshine returning through the afternoon.

The break from storm chances remains short, with another round of severe weather possible during the afternoon and evening on Wednesday.
