MISSOURI — Missourians who purchased products from Victoria’s Secret online could be paid as part of a class action lawsuit against the lingerie retailer.
Victoria’s Secret agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it charged Missouri customers too much sales tax on out-of-state online purchases.
Reportedly, Victoria’s Secret charged some Missouri customers more state tax than they should have, as those items were shipping from outside the state.
Who qualifies?
Missouri customers who purchased at least one product through the company’s website between May 18, 2019, and May 18, 2023, and it was shipped from outside of Missouri.
Additionally, products that were purchased at a higher tax rate than the vendor’s use tax rate applied to the purchase could qualify.
How do you submit a claim?
The deadline to submit a claim or objection to the settlement is May 16, 2025, and it can be done on the settlement’s website.
Under the terms of the settlement, customers who qualify will receive an automatic payment based on the amount of the vendor’s use tax that should have been applied to their online purchases.
Payments will vary depending on the number of customers eligible for a refund, the total amount available, and how much was originally charged to the customers.
