COOPER COUNTY, Mo. — About two hours west of St. Louis, firefighters in Boonville, Missouri, rescued a dog from a frozen pond last week.

The rescue was captured on video after Boon, the dog, had walked onto the frozen pond and fell through the ice about 25 feet from shore.

The Cooper County Fire Protection District said it took Lieutenant Tyson Fahrenbrink less than 20 minutes to save Boone after Fahrenbrink was trained for ice rescue operations.

“About 3 weeks ago, we did some practice. Today it paid off. Dog and Dog Mom are doing OK.” the fire protection district wrote on Facebook.
