ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying and locating three carjacking suspects caught on camera.
New video released by St. Louis police on Thursday shows two armed suspects exiting a gray Hyundai Santa Fe and approaching a victim inside a maroon Dodge vehicle.
The Dodge vehicle was carjacked and later used in another carjacking the same day, according to an SLMPD crime summary report.
The two armed suspects were described as 18-19 years old, between 5’6′ and 5’8,’ thin build and wearing face masks. Video showed one suspect carrying a white backpack featuring animal mouth-like details.
Also in the video, a third suspect can be seen waiting inside the Hyundai Santa Fe, which police later determined was stolen out of Cahokia Heights, Illinois.
The carjacking caught on camera happened around 8:15 a.m. on April 6 in the 1300 block of Tower Grove Avenue in St. Louis’ Tower Grove Southeast neighborhood. A 52-year-old man was carjacked, though he was not seriously injured in the incident.
