ST. LOUIS – We had some rumbles of thunder overnight Friday morning and now we’re left with some spotty light rain across the region.

Spotty light rain should wrap up pretty early Friday morning, then we’re in for a windy and warm day. Clouds decrease and temperatures climb to near 80 F. Gusty southwesterly winds can be expected, sustained around 15 mph with gusts to near 35 mph.

Overnight lows remain mild, falling to the upper 50s to near 60 F. A few showers could return to the region as early as the overnight hours but will increase in coverage on Saturday with our first of two systems that will impact the weekend.

While Saturday will feature showers for some, the best rain chances will be from STL and points south and east. Highs on Saturday will be in the 60s to near 70 F.

Saturday night into Sunday morning we could have some showers or storms but the thunderstorm threat increases for Sunday afternoon and evening. We are tracking the potential for strong to severe storms as well but there are still questions as to the level of this threat.
