WARREN COUNTY, Mo. – The search for a murder suspect in Warren County has ended after the man surrendered to police Wednesday morning.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, 38-year-old James Frazer surrendered to the department by his attorney Reed Rosenblum around 11 a.m.
Frazer was wanted in the death of 49-year-old Phillip Blankenship, who was found deceased with a gunshot wound in Wright City in the early hours of Nov. 15.
Witnesses told police there was an altercation regarding money and that Blankenship had Frazer’s cell phone. Frazer retrieved a firearm and said that he would shoot Blankenship, according to police.
Gunshots were heard outside the residence, and Frazer stated he hurt Blankenship. Following the incident, Frazer left on foot, hiding his weapon in the woods and going to a friend’s house.
Frazer is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Warren County Jail without bond.
