ST. LOUIS – Dos Salas, the upscale 1919 Washington Avenue nightclub, shared to Instagram that their doors are closing Saturday following nearly three months of litigation.
The parent company to the club, Contemporary Dining and Entertainment Concepts, LLC, was first summoned to appear in court on Oct. 30, 2024, after the business allegedly failed to pay their leased rent amount of $9,800 for the months of August, September, and October.
During this time, AHA attempted to charge double the rent amount for those three months and claimed that the tenant was behind on their designated payments, despite accepting their agreed rent amount.
Attorneys representing CDEC said in court filings that the nightclub had an account balance of zero on Oct. 1. As a result, they owed no money to their renter at the time of the false affidavit and filed lawsuit.
AHA Management, the rental company, sought the sum of $19,800, which included alleged past-due rent, late fees, and other expenses, after filing an affidavit that claimed they were entitled to the full monetray sum.
A Motion for Sanctions was filed by Dos Salas against AHA Management in response to the documentation that was provided by the plaintiff and its attorney.
A Motion to Dismiss was filed by Dos Salas and is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27.
