ST. LOUIS – New information has emerged about a significant water main break that occurred Friday in North St. Louis at the intersection of Blair and Penrose, an area known for frequent breaks. According to a St. Louis Water employee, this was a level-36 valve break, indicating a major incident. Workers have been actively trying to locate and shut off the valve to stop the water flow and begin cleanup.

The intersection was closed to traffic due to severe flooding, and construction equipment was brought in to access the break site. Some cars parked near the intersection ended up inches deep in water.
