ST. LOUIS – For those who are tired of the summer heat and are already looking forward to the holiday season with cooler temperatures, some places around St. Louis have you covered. From a Cardinals game to Union Station and the Botanical Garden, there is something for everyone to get in the holiday spirit a little early.
Union Station
St. Louis Union Station is welcoming guests for their 12 days of Christmas celebration beginning July 25. Visitors can expect to see a “Scuba Claus” in the aquarium, along with Christmas-themed games and music throughout the station until Aug. 5.
As Thursday is also National Carousel Day, ticket rides will be $10 all day. And starting Aug. 5, Union Station will have tickets on sale for their own Polar Express later in the year.
Missouri Botanical Garden
One of the most highly anticipated holiday activities in St. Louis is the Garden Glow at the Missouri Botanical Garden. With over 2,000,000 lights throughout the garden, it holds an immersive outdoor experience for guests.
Beginning Thursday, tickets will be on sale for the Garden Glow, which will be open from Nov. 16 through Jan. 4. In honor of ticket sales starting, the garden is hosting a big event to get visitors in the holiday spirit.
Along with it, Santa and an Ice Queen will be visiting Thursday in their summer attire and will be available for photos from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Additionally, there will be live music from local artist Tim Shaw with his tropical steel drums, festive drinks, a horticulturist sharing information about special plants the garden features, and more.
St. Louis Cardinals
If you’re searching for the perfect holiday sweater while still representing St. Louis sports, the Cardinals are hosting their annual “Christmas in July” themed game on July 29 versus the Texas Rangers.
Those who purchase a theme ticket will receive a Cardinals Christmas sweater. The clothing features hints of St. Louis and baseball all throughout the design. In addition to the new piece to add to your closet, Santa Fred will be making appearances around Busch Stadium.
