JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Donald Trump has won the presidency in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, according to race call projections from The Associated Press.
The path to victory requires 270 electoral votes out of the total 538. AP projects at least 295 electoral votes for Trump in the 2024 election cycle with presidential races called in all but two U.S. states as of Thursday.
Trump becomes only the second former president to win an election bid after previously leaving office. From 2017-2021, he served as U.S. president with a vice president running mate of Mike Pence. For his elected term, 2025-2029, he had a vice president running mate of J.D. Vance.
A majority of Missouri voters strongly favored Trump, with around 1.7 million votes, as opposed to 1.1 million votes from Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump won the state with roughly 58.5% of voter support in the latest general election, according to AP projections.
