ST. LOUIS – A St. Clair County, Illinois, woman is accused of working with others to carjack a man just days before Christmas in south St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the robbery took place on Dec. 23 at the Conoco gas station in the 4300 block of South Broadway, located in the city’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
Police met with the victim, who said he’d just picked up Mya J. Reagan, 19, who asked that he stop at the gas station.
The victim pulled into the gas station, parked at a pump, and went into the store while Reagan waited inside the car.
When the victim left the store, two armed men approached and demanded the victim’s keys.
The victim handed over his keys, and the armed suspects got into the vehicle and drove off, with Reagan still in the car.
Police said the robbery was recorded on gas station security video.
Following her arrest, police said Reagan admitted that she knew the two armed suspects and that they’d asked her to help set someone up.
There was no mention of how or why the victim was chosen.
