ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis woman was sentenced last Friday for aiding and abetting with the shooting of a police officer.

According to online court documents, Breonna C. White, 26, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree assault and was sentenced to two concurrent sentences of 10 years. She’ll receive credit for 142 days of time served.

White admitted driving a Chevy Impala on Sept. 13, 2020, with two men in the vehicle when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. White sped away and police spiked the Impala’s tires.

The pursuit continued to the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood of north St. Louis when the vehicle turned onto East Prairie Avenue. The occupants in the vehicle opened fire on the pursuing officers. One of the officers suffered a gunshot wound to their shoulder.

The Impala was later found abandoned near West Florissant and Alice avenues. Police said DNA evidence from the steering wheel linked White to the car.

White is also facing murder charges in a 2019 double homicide case. White and Khalil Hughes, 23, have both been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

They’re accused of shooting and killing Derrick Hudson, 22, and Jacqueline Griffin, 26, on Sept. 22, 2019, in the 5800 block of Maffitt Avenue in the city’s Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.
