O’FALLON, Mo. – A lucky lottery player scored a $50,000 prize on a scratchers ticket that she recently purchased from an O’Fallon gas station, according to the Missouri Lottery.

The lottery player uncovered a “500X” symbol on the Missouri Lottery game “500X” to claim her prize. The symbol was a multiplier, so a $100 value revealed with “500X” became a $50,000 prize.

The winning ticket was sold at a FastLane gas station at 7430 Highway N on an undisclosed date, according to a news release Friday from Missouri Lottery.

As the Missouri Lottery notes, for the lottery game “500X,” there are 50 total prizes worth at least $50,000, and the odds of landing such a prize are one in about every 43,000 prizes.

A $50,000 prize is the third largest prize available through this game. There are also a few prizes worth $1 million and $5 million, but the odds of getting one of those are very slim, about one in every 239,000 prizes.

And for context, “500X” is a $50 lottery scratchers game with an average chance at a prize of about one in every three tickets.

To date, players have won over $177.3 million playing the game, per Missouri Lottery officials. There are currently over $79.1 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including 18 more $50,000 prizes and at least one more $5 million prize.
