KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A deadly home explosion was caught on camera Saturday near Kansas City that killed one person and a dog.
According to affiliate station FOX 4 in Kansas City, the explosion occurred just before 11:15 a.m. at a home located in the city of Gladstone near Northeast 74th Terrace and North Main Street.
After the city’s fire department arrived, the home was found completely destroyed, and all surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution. Later that day, the Gladstone Fire Department confirmed that one person and a dog had died as a result of the explosion.
A video shared on Storyful showed Ring camera footage from Ashleigh Tomlin, who lives next door to the home.
No other injuries were reported, and the investigation remains ongoing. A spokesperson with Spire told FOX 4 the explosion was not a natural gas-related incident.
