ST. LOUIS – Winds are calm Wednesday morning but will steadily shift out of the south through the morning as the influence of high pressure ushers east. This will generate a warmer afternoon (10 degrees warmer than Tuesday), as many places may see their first 90 F day this season.

High clouds move in from the southwest, which may hinder some from reaching 90 F. The summertime pattern continues but the humidity is lagging behind Wednesday’s warmup. We’ll feel its return more thoroughly Thursday as spotty showers increase through the afternoon with the heat of the day.

The main wave of energy comes from Texas for Friday and Saturday as scattered showers and storms make a comeback. While it won’t be an all-weekend washout, a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop primarily with the heat of the day, relaxing once the sun sets each evening.

Father’s Day looks to be in good shape in terms of a lower chance of rain. Clouds will be present on Sunday, but the atmospheric energy that caused showers and storms on Friday and Saturday will move to the east. Can’t rule out a stray shower or two on Sunday, but overall, this weekend will be gloomy. High temperatures remain in the mid-80s this weekend.
