ST. LOUIS – Some clouds to start our Friday and the chance for a few sprinkles or a spot shower.

The atmosphere has very dry air close to the surface so some of what is able to squeeze out of the clouds is evaporating before it reaches the ground. Skies will clear later Friday morning and winds will pick up. It won’t be as windy as Wednesday, but you will notice the breeze. Those warm south winds will send temperatures well into the 60s Friday afternoon.

The dry air and gusty winds Friday mean that there is elevated fire danger. We don’t have an official warning locally, but fires that start could spread quickly in these conditions.

A cold front arrives Friday night, returning clouds to the area this evening and the slight chance for a few more showers into the night. Most will stay dry. Wake-up temperatures Saturday will be in the mid 30s. Sunshine returns Saturday, but it will be a bit cooler. Highs back down in the 50s.

Several nice days of sunshine Sunday through Tuesday paired with a nice warm up. Highs will be into the 70s Monday and Tuesday. Watching for rain showers next Wednesday.
