ST. LOUIS – We’re just hours away from the start of St. Louis CITY SC’s third MLS regular season.

St. Louis CITY SC will open its 2025 MLS season against the Colorado Rapids. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at CITYPARK.

If you plan to head to Downtown St. Louis to catch St. Louis CITY SC’s home opener in person or watch somewhere else, keep these considerations in mind.

For those planning to watch at home, Saturday’s game will be available on Apple TV+ through MLS Season Pass. To create or log into an account or check your eligibility for MLS Season Pass, click here.

Are tickets still available?

If you’d like to see Saturday’s season opener in-person, some tickets are still available. Tickets start at $27 before fees via SeatGeek, the team’s ticket partner.

Parking/Rides

Parking passes for designated lots within the St. Louis CITY SC District are sold out for the home opener, meaning you will need to park somewhere that requires a little bit of a walk or grab a ride to the stadium.

One of the most ideal spots for parking is Union Station, though it could fill up quickly with the St. Louis Blues also scheduled to play around the same time nearby at the Enterprise Center. Other nearby options are parking lots at 409 South 15th Street, 360 South 18th Street and 1211 Spruce Street.

Ballpark Village is a little bit of a longer walk, but fans could possibly catch some shuttles to and from CITYPARK. CITY SC outlines a few other parking spots that might require a bit of a walk.

For those who want to avoid parking hassles, you can take the Metro to the Union Station exit or arrange a rideshare for drop-off at Locust Street, between 20th and 21st streets.

Block Party

St. Louis CITY SC will host a CITY Block Party to celebrate its new season. Fans can enjoy the first part of the block party Saturday starting at 4:30 p.m.

The CITY Block Party in Lou Fusz Plaza (located on the eastern side of CITYPARK) will include music, local food and beverage vendors, fan giveaways, games, and surprise entertainment and activities. The Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales are also expected to make an appearance.

You do not need a ticket to attend the block party and festivities are open to the public. For more information on the block party, click here.

Starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, an hour and a half before the match, fans can enter from all four sides of CITYPARK. The south and east sides will be closest to the block party. Fans can only pay for goods and services at CITYPARK using a credit or debit card.

CITYPARK operates under a clear-bag policy, meaning fans are only allowed to enter with clear bags smaller than 14 inches by 14 inches by 6 inches. Some wallets or clutches might be subject to inspection. Guests with medical conditions and diaper bags will be granted a bag exemption on a case-by-case basis. CITY SC also notes many items that guests are prohibited from bringing into the stadium.

This year’s team

CITY SC will look for a rebound season after earning the Western Conference’s top seed in its inaugural MLS season, but missing playoffs in its second season last year.

Saturday’s match will mark the debut of new head coach Olaf Mellberg, the former captain of the Swedish National Team who brings nearly a decade of international coaching experience.

Fans will most likely be familiar with the names of Roman Bürki (goaltender), Eduard Löwen (midfielder), Klauss (stirker) and Célio Pompeu (winger).

This year’s roster, however, looks quite different from the team that debuted two seasons ago, losing notable leaders like Tim Parker last season and also completing a trade of midfielder Indiana Vassilev on Friday.

Soccer analysts with MLS.com predict an 11th place finish for St. Louis out of 15 Western Conference teams, which fall just short of qualifying for playoffs. Health and youth development could be key in overcoming these projections for a possible second trip to playoffs in three years.
