ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) has confirmed the identity of a woman who was found deceased on Interstate 70 on May 10.
Police have identified Aquima Garrett, 30, of St. Louis, as the woman who was discovered on eastbound I-70, just between the Adelaide and East Grand Avenue exits.
Before coming across Garrett’s body, officials initially were alerted to an “Accident, Person Struck” call.
Upon their arrival, they found Garrett, who was lying on the highway’s right shoulder. According to first responders, the 30-year-old woman was not conscious or breathing.
She was determined dead at the scene, and officials began investigating what led to Garrett’s passing.
Detectives who investigated the incident determined that Garrett was hit by a car. They believe her body was on the shoulder for many hours until discovery.
