ST. LOUIS – Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead inside a home in the Dutchtown neighborhood on May 4.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) was alerted to the shooting, which happened shortly before 2:35 p.m. in the 4100 block of S. Grand Blvd. 

When arriving at the scene, SLMPD said that they discovered 48-year-old Lachonda Valentine fatally wounded from a gunshot. 

The extent of Valentine’s injuries has not been shared with FOX 2, as the results from the Medical Examiner’s Office are pending.

Back in 2021, first responders discovered multiple bodies, which included a woman in her 30s and her two daughters, who were around seven and one years old, in the same area. Detectives confirmed with FOX 2 that they don’t believe these two cases are connected.
