ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Valley Park woman was issued a summons on Tuesday to appear in court next month for using company-issued credit cards in transactions costing her employer more than $100,000.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, Lisa M. Singer (age not provided) had used her company credit card and a coworker’s company card to make unauthorized transfers via PayPal to Singer’s personal bank account.
Police said Singer made several transfers per month, each more than $1,000.
The transfers happened between Jan. 1, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022. Singer was fired from her job in January 2023.
Singer’s former employer told investigators the losses incurred on Singer’s card totaled $66,644.70, with another $41,250.85 in losses coming via the coworker’s card.
Police said the PayPal account and bank account used for the transfers belonged to Singer.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Singer with 12 counts of fraudulent use of a credit/debit device. Singer is scheduled to appear before a judge on Dec. 16.
