ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man is due in court Wednesday afternoon in connection with a double shooting in the city’s Gravois Park neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened on June 23 in the 3700 block of Michigan Avenue.

Police said Oscar Mijango-Vasquez, 30, was seen walking down Michigan when he took out a gun and began firing into the air. Two people attempted to detain Mijango-Vasquez and while in the process of gaining control over him, Mijango-Vasquez shot them both.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Mijano-Vasquez with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action. Mijano-Vasquez is jailed without bond.
